EDW Cookie Policy

INFORMATION ABOUT OUR USE OF COOKIES

We use cookies on our website. A cookie is a small data file containing letters and numbers that we store on your computer or device. Our website uses cookies to distinguish you from other users of our website. This helps us to provide you with a good experience when you browse our website and also allows us to improve our site.

By using our website you agree to this Policy and you consent to our use of cookies in accordance with the terms of this Policy.

You can block cookies by activating the option in your browser that allows you to refuse the setting of all or some cookies. However, if you use your browser settings to block all cookies (including essential cookies) you may not be able to access parts of our site and some functionality may not work.

Some of the cookies we use are "analytical" cookies. They allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around the site when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way our website works, for example, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily. You can find more information about the individual cookies we use and the purposes for which we use them in the table below:

Website Software

Our website software uses cookies in order to function correctly. Cookies are required to identify users, keep track of the current session and aid in navigation after certain functions are carried out.

Name Description Expiration
exp_last_visit Sets the datetime that the user last visited the site, and is set for both guests and logged in users. If not set, is automatically set to 10 years ago. Affects guests and logged in users. 1 year from set/update.
exp_tracker Tracks the last 5 pages viewed by the user, and is used primarily for redirection after logging in etc. Affects guests and logged in users. Not Set
exp_last_activity Every time the state is updated (the page reloaded) the last activity is set to the current datetime. Used to determine expiry. This is essential for logged in users, but not for guests - it is set for both. 1 year from set/update.
exp_sessionid A uniquely generated ID that corresponds to the session_id column in the exp_session table. Used when cookie and session are set as the session type. Used only for logged in members. 2 hours from set/update.
exp_uniqueid Matches the member id in the database. Randomly generated by the functions class at registration. Used only for logged in members. 2 hours from set/update.
exp_userhash The encrypted password of the currently logged in user. Set if you choose the cookies and session ID method for sessions (cs in your config.) Used only for logged in members. 2 hours from set/update.
exp_anon A flag set by the user to determine if they are listed in the online users. Not Set.
exp_expiration Determines the length of the session for a logged in user. Used only for logged in members. Up to 1 year from set/update.
exp_perpage This cookie is for a limit of listed items being shown on a page in the content management system. 1 year from set/update.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics helps us gather statistics on how customers use our website, so that we can improve our service.

Name Description Expiration
__utma This cookie is typically written to the browser upon the first visit to your site from that web browser. If the cookie has been deleted by the browser operator, and the browser subsequently visits your site, a new __utma cookie is written with a different unique ID. This cookie is used to determine unique visitors to your site and it is updated with each page view. Additionally, this cookie is provided with a unique ID that Google Analytics uses to ensure both the validity and accessibility of the cookie as an extra security measure. 2 years from set/update.
__utmb This cookie is used to establish and continue a user session with your site. When a user views a page on your site, the Google Analytics code attempts to update this cookie. If it does not find the cookie, a new one is written and a new session is established. Each time a user visits a different page on your site, this cookie is updated to expire in 30 minutes, thus continuing a single session for as long as user activity continues within 30-minute intervals. This cookie expires when a user pauses on a page on your site for longer than 30 minutes. 30 minutes from set/update.
__utmc Historically, this cookie operated in conjunction with the __utmb cookie to determine whether or not to establish a new session for the user. For backwards compatibility purposes with sites still using the urchin.js tracking code, this cookie will continue to be written and will expire when the user exits the browser. Not set.
__utmz This cookie stores the type of referral used by the visitor to reach your site, whether via a direct method, a referring link, a website search, or a campaign such as an ad or an email link. It is used to calculate search engine traffic, ad campaigns and page navigation within your own site. The cookie is updated with each page view to your site. 6 months from set/update.
