Tuesday 28/06 – Ofgem issues a consultation seeking views on extending the Market Stabilisation Charge (MSC) and the ban on acquisition-only tariffs (BAT) to 31 March

Monday 27/06 – Scottish Government announces the launch of its £10mn Hydrogen Innovation Scheme to drive innovation within the hydrogen sector and accelerate its production and storage.


Friday 24/06 – BEIS announces the UK has reached an agreement to modernise the terms of the Energy Charter Treaty (ECT), concluding two years of negotiations between 53 contracting parties – maintaining current benefits and winning new legal protections for investors and taxpayers.

Thursday 23/06 – Ofgem publishes a consultation seeking views on how it will determine what suppliers can claim for in their final, true-up Last Resort Supply Payment (LRSP) claims later this year.

Wednesday 22/06 – The National Audit Office (NAO) publishes a report on the energy supplier market, which aims to set out the facts regarding the recent energy supplier exits and to evaluate the role of Ofgem and BEIS in the events leading to the exits and how well they handled them.

Tuesday 21/06 – The government publishes its response to the recommendations set out in the Environmental Audit Committee’s report on Greening imports: a UK carbon border approach.

Monday 20/06 – Ofgem publishes a policy consultation regarding three key proposals as part of its work to strengthen financial resilience within the retail energy market.


Friday 17/06 – The government publishes a letter from the Minister of State for Energy, Clean Growth and Climate Change, Greg Hands to National Grid Electricity System Operator, regarding the Capacity Market auction determination.

Monday 13/06 – Ofgem issues its consultation on part two of the administration of the Energy Company Obligation phase four (ECO4). ECO4 runs from 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2026.

Tuesday 14/06 – The government announces that it has made progress towards implementing a new funding model for nuclear projects. The government announces that it is closing the plug-in car grant scheme to concentrate funding towards the main barriers to the electric vehicle (EV) transition.

Wednesday 15/06 – The report phase consultation for P432 Half Hourly Settlement for CT Advanced Metering Systems issues.

Thursday 16/06 – The UK Government issues a response to its Recovering the costs of heat networks regulation consultation


Friday 10/06 – The Welsh Government announced that it would provide £4mn in new support to vulnerable households through a fuel voucher scheme.

Thursday 09/06 – The UK Government sets out a range of actions to improve the resilience of electricity networks in GB for future extreme weather events.

Wednesday 08/06 – The government publishes a consultation seeking views on its proposals to improve liquidity in the 2023 Capacity Market (CM) auctions.

Tuesday 07/06 – The Scottish Government announces the launch of its Low Income Winter Heating Assistance, which it states will provide support to around 400,000 low income households through a guaranteed annual winter heating benefit of £50.

Monday 06/06 – Transport Scotland announces that the Scottish Government is providing over £30mn this financial year to accelerate the shift to zero emission transport.


Wednesday 01/06 – BEIS publishes the outcome of its July 2021 consultation on maximising non-domestic smart meter consumer benefits.
