Wednesday 31/08 – BEIS publishes a consultation seeking views on hydrogen transport and storage infrastructure business model designs, regulatory arrangements, strategic planning and the role of blending.

Tuesday 30/08 – The North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) announces that it has granted the required approvals and consents to Centrica Offshore UK Limited (COUK) for Phase 1 of the Rough gas storage site.

Friday 26/08 – Ofgem publishes its decision confirming an 80% increase to the Default Tariff Cap, since the last update, to £3,549 for the upcoming cap period (9a), covering 1 October 2022 – 31 December 2022.

Thursday 25/08 – Scottish Government announces that it will deliver £1.2mn in funding to key energy advice organisations, enabling them to provide additional support and advice to consumers amidst rising energy prices.

Wednesday 24/08 – Representatives from the Scottish Government, energy companies, and advice organisations convene for a summit concerning the energy price crisis, hosted by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.

Tuesday 23/08 – Crown Estate Scotland announces that three projects will be offered seabed agreements for offshore wind projects following its ScotWind clearing process.

Monday 22/08 – Stream 1 Phase 2 of the Low Carbon Hydrogen Supply 2 Competition opens for applications.

Friday 12/08 – The government announces that it has published a consultation seeking views on proposed amendments to the exemption scheme for energy intensive industries (EIIs).

Thursday 11/08 – The Prime Minister, Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi and Business and Energy Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng host a roundtable with industry leaders from the electricity sector to discuss how they can help people struggling with rising energy prices.

Wednesday 10/08 – The Cabinet Office announces that ministers across government met to discuss the challenges people may face this winter including the rising cost-of-living and energy prices.

Tuesday 09/08 – The government publishes the outcome of its February 2022 call for evidence on proposed amendments to Contracts for Difference (CfD) Supply Chain Plans.

Monday 08/08 – Ofgem issues a consultation on a number of proposals that look to accelerate the investment for onshore electricity transmission under the RIIO-ET2 price control.

Friday 05/08 – The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, awards £4mn as part of his Green and Healthy Streets Fund.

Thursday 04/08 – Ofgem publishes its decision on changes to the price cap wholesale methodology, including moving from six-monthly cap updates to quarterly cap updates.

Wednesday 03/08 – The government publishes the outcome of its July 2021 call for evidence on Facilitating the deployment of large-scale and long-duration electricity storage.

Tuesday 02/08 – The government announces that it will provide up to £635mn of funding to public sector organisations for the installation of low carbon heating and energy efficiency measures.

Monday 01/08 – BEIS publishes the July 2022 update to its Renewable Energy Planning Database (REPD).
