Wednesday 30/11 – BEIS publishes its response to its September consultation seeking to identify new generating technologies for the future Capacity Market, including updates on the progress of vehicle-to-X (V2X) technology and its potential to contribute to security of supply.
Tuesday 29/11 – Business and Energy Secretary Grant Shapps confirms that the government will proceed with Sizewell C nuclear power station, following the intentions set out in the Autumn Statement.
Monday 28/11 – BEIS announces that £32.9mn in government funding has been awarded to projects across the UK to develop new energy storage technologies as part of Stream 2 of the Longer Duration Energy Storage Demonstration (LODES) competition.
Friday 18/11 – The government announces it has provided £1.8bn in payments last month towards the Energy Bills Support Scheme (EBSS) with over 27mn households across GB benefited from EBSS payments.
Thursday 17/11 – Chancellor Jeremy Hunt delivers the government’s Autumn Statement. Chief among the announcements was that the government will increase the Energy Profits Levy from 25% to 35%, during the period of 1 January 2023 – 31 March 2028, while also introducing the Electricity Generator Levy – a temporary 45% tax that will be levied on extraordinary returns from low-carbon UK electricity generation, to be implemented from 1 January 2023 to 31 March 2028.
Wednesday 16/11 – Ofgem publishes a letter to non-domestic suppliers, highlighting its concerns around some reported non-domestic consumer harm. This letter lists some of the key concerns, including a lack of offers to contract, both when a customer rolls off an existing contract and for new connections.
Tuesday 15/11 – BEIS publishes the outcome of its carbon capture, usage and storage (CCUS): Dispatchable Power Agreement (DPA) business model consultation.
Monday 14/11 – Ofgem announces that Feed in Tariff (FiT) customers who had been charged an administration fee, in breach of the Supply Licence Conditions, by FiT Licensees Good Energy and F&S Energy would receive compensation.

Wednesday 02/11 – Ofgem reports the number of Renewable Obligation Certificates (Rocs) presented to it by suppliers over 2021-22 totalled 109,312,159, which amounts to 85.5% of the total obligation.
