Friday 17/05 – Ofgem reports that it has issued a Provisional Order to Maxen Power Supply, following concerns around the suppliers’ ability to comply with Standard Licence Conditions 0A and 4A of its supply licences.

Thursday 16/05 – The Department for Business and Trade publishes part one of the government’s response to its call for evidence on smarter regulation and the regulatory landscape, with specific proposals to improve the economic regulation of the water, energy and fixed telecom sectors.

Wednesday 15/05 – The Scottish Government announces that it has launched its £1.5mn pilot Community Energy Generation Growth Fund.

Tuesday 14/05 – DESNZ announces that the world’s most advanced wind turbine test facility will be built in Northumberland, as part of an £86mn investment in wind power research and development.

Monday 13/05 – The Environment Agency publishes a report examining the impact of net zero technologies on the environment. DESNZ publishes the grant recipients and project summaries from Phase 3C of the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme. DESNZ announces that funding is now available for Wave 3 of its Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund.

Friday 10/05 – Ofgem publishes a consultation seeking views on its proposal to increase the compensation payment that suppliers must make to consumers when they fail to meet any of the Guaranteed Standards of Performance.

Thursday 09/05 – The government publishes an update on its potential hydrogen heated town pilot, following its original proposal in October 2022.

Wednesday 08/05 – DESNZ publishes a consultation seeking views on its proposed approach for siting fusion energy facilities as part of a new National Policy Statement.

Tuesday 07/05 – The government issues a call for evidence looking at how to support the future deployment of non-pipeline transport and cross-border CO2 networks.

Monday 06/05 – Bank Holiday.

Friday 03/05 – Ofgem publishes its decision to reject CMP286 Improving TNUoS Predictability Through Increased Notice of the Target Revenue Used in the TNUoS Tariff Setting Process.

Thursday 02/05 – Ofgem publishes its decision on modifications to the RIIO-ET2 price control Regulatory Instructions and Guidance, the RIIO-ET2 Regulatory Reporting Pack and the RIIO-ET2 Price Control Financial Model guidance for electricity transmission licence holders.

Wednesday 01/05 – Government announces that its Strategy and Policy Statement for energy policy in GB has been designated and is now in force.
