Friday 28/06 – Ofgem publishes its decision to modify the Regulatory Financial Performance Reporting  template and Regulatory Instructions and Guidance for RIIO-2.

Thursday 27/06 – DESNZ publishes its Energy Trends: June 2024 for electricity and gas.

Wednesday 26/06 – The Offshore Wind Growth Partnership reports that it has published a new standardised technology demonstration agreement, designed to provide standardisation for testing and demonstrating new products and services on UK offshore wind farms under operational conditions.

Tuesday 25/06 – The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders publishes its Vision 2035: Ready to Grow, in which it highlights how new targeted policies from the government could see more than 17mn fossil fuel cars replaced by zero emission vehicles by the end of 2035.

Monday 24/06 – UK Power Networks announces that a UK-first electric vehicle trial currently being undertaken by the operator, Octopus Energy and ev.energy is proving that consumers can help balance energy supply and demand across the UK.


Friday 21/06 – The Competition and Markets Authority announces that the Subsidy Advice Unit has accepted a request for a report, providing advice to DESNZ on the proposed Dispatchable Power Agreement Business Model subsidy scheme.

Thursday 20/06 – The Welsh Government publishes a summary of responses to its consultation on the skills needed to support the transition to net zero, held from October to December last year.

Wednesday 19/06 – The Scottish National Party publishes its general election manifesto, in which it details pledges related to the energy industry.

Tuesday 18/06 – The Scottish Government issues its Scottish Greenhouse Gas (GHG) statistics for 2022.

Monday 17/06 – Reform UK launches its election document, containing some commitments related to energy.


Friday 14/06 – Ofgem publishes a consultation on extending the allowance in the Default Tariff Cap for bad debt associated with Additional Support Credit (ASC) beyond September 2024.

Thursday 13/06 – The Labour Party publishes its election manifesto. Notable announcements relating to energy include pledging clean power by 2030. Plaid Cymru publishes its general election manifesto.

Wednesday 12/06 – The Green Party launches its election manifesto, with headline energy announcements including a pledge to push the government to transition to net zero more than a decade ahead of the legally binding 2050 target.

Tuesday 11/06 – The Conservative Party publishes its general election manifesto containing pledges relating to the energy industry.

Monday 10/06 – The Liberal Democrats releases its election manifesto. Energy UK issues its Energy Matters manifesto.


Friday 07/06 – Scottish Renewables launches its election manifesto Clean energy future: time is now.

Thursday 06/06 – National Grid publishes its Early View of Winter Outlook report to give GB’s energy industry enough time to prepare for the coming winter. Solar Energy UK issues its election manifesto on behalf of the solar and energy storage industry, in which it details its belief that 50GW of solar is needed by 2030, alongside 30GW of zero-carbon energy storage.

Wednesday 05/06 – West Burton Energy announces that it has signed a binding agreement to sell the West Burton B 1,332MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine facility and the 49MW Battery Energy Storage System to TotalEnergies.

Tuesday 04/06 – The Association for Renewable Energy and Clean Technology (REA) publishes its First 100 Days Action Plan, in which it outlines priorities and actions it believes should be taken within the next government’s first 100 days in office. Ripple Energy publishes its People Power Manifesto, detailing steps to put people at the centre of the UK’s green energy transformation which focus on democratising energy ownership. The Confederation of British Industry issues its Business Manifesto.

Monday 03/06 – DESNZ announces that it is extending the closing date of its consultation on delivering Smart Secure Electricity Systems due to the pressures on stakeholder time during the pre-election period.
