EDW Delivers Rapid System Implementation
Out of the box
Customising off-the-shelf software is expensive, time-consuming, and uncertain. And once the customisations are made upgrading the software to meet new business, market and regulatory requirements becomes more difficult and costly.
Yet no two electricity suppliers operate in the same way.
EDW solves this problem by letting you adapt ERS to your needs through configuration. During implementation, you make a series of choices that tailor operational processes to your precise requirements. EDW preserves these configuration choices throughout its software release process.
With ERS you get the cost advantages of an off-the-shelf product together with the operational efficiencies inherent in software that works the way you need it to work. Configuration, not customisation.
ERS is refreshingly different
EDW’s tried and tested implementation blueprint ensures ERS is implemented on time and on budget.
Delivery timeline
Rapid Installation of ERS - with minimum customisation you can be up and running in 4 months.
EDW Implementation Blueprint overview
EDW IT Solution Definition Questionnaire
The IT Solution Definition Questionnaire is completed by your business in order to provide EDW with a detailed view of ERS configuration requirements, identify any business definition gaps and define the technical integration/interface requirements.
The ERS system has a set of default configuration for the management of products and customers, supporting both the HH and NHH markets and industry customer segments. However our experience is that no electricity retail supply business is identical. The purpose of this document is to identify your requirements for the configuration of ERS.
Configuration Requirement Workshops
This initial fact finding exercise and the inputs gathered are required to define the scope of the Configuration Requirement Workshops which are needed to produce a detailed configuration specification and implementation plans, and provide cost estimates and delivery time frames.
The information required in order to complete this questionnaire should generally be available from your internal operating documentation such as Operating Plan, HR Resource Plan, Business Processes, Risk Policy and Credit Management Policy.
Configuration specification
The document that, after being agreed upon by both parties, serves as the basis for the delivery phase of the project.
Pre-configuration
This where EDW handles all generic settings not specific to a given installation.
Customer-specific configuration
Based on the Configuration Specification, this process implements the subset of ERS's pre-built functions that will best meet your company's business and operational model.
Documentation
EDW will provide all documentation for your installation of ERS, including all user and administrator manuals and user guides.
Installation
EDW then installs ERS and all associated software on designated servers at your specified site.
Site acceptance testing
A significant project milestone, this step confirms that all aspects of the installation work according to specification.
User training
EDW provides comprehensive train the trainer workshops - teaching your designate training personnel how to use and optimise ERS for your implementation of the software.
User acceptance testing
EDW supports this process so that testing can focus on important customer configuration and provide an opportunity to get up to speed with ERS.
Implementation support
EDW provides implementation support to your organisation using consultants who understand the industry issues, processes and know ERS inside out.
Live customer support provided by EDW service delivery experts
We find that our customers tend to need minimal support simply because ERS is developed, maintained, and upgraded according to the standard best practices. When you do need support, however, EDW is committed to resolving any issue as rapidly as possible. We know that the time you spend on software issues is time you don’t spend making money.
Your support is in good hands with our own helpdesk executives and support engineers. When you call EDW for support you talk to a professional who works with ERS every day and who knows the application inside and out.
See the Support section of our website for further details regarding EDW professional support services.
